چکیده

Coffee is the most appreciated beverage in worldwide; Brazil largest producer and exporter of this commodity. Organochlorine endosulfan was banned from country 2013 due to its teratogenic agent-related features. Since then, coffee plantations have experienced increased Hypothenemus hampei infestation rates. The aim current study assess variations rates Coffea arabica fruits brocaded by H. after application entomopathogenic fungal species Beauveria bassiana IBCB66. Experiments were carried out with ‘Catuaí’ ‘Mundo Novo’ cultivars between 2018 2020, during borer transit period. Three experiments based on aforementioned investigated plant species, both spraying sprinkling, at 30-day intervals; 10 collected per face each useful repetition. experiment has followed a randomized blocks design five treatments, including control, repetitions, each. Ecobass (IBCB66) wettable powder spray, concentration 2 × 1013·ha–1, used I II. On other hand, mix III prepared blastospores 5 1012·ha–1 + 0.1% Silwet. sprinkling process all three dry aerial conidia 1013·ha–1. Collected data subjected analysis variance (ANOVA), which Fisher’s test 5% probability level, SISVAR software. More than 35,000 assessed. In addition experiments, results evidenced that rate remained high.

Alimentary canal and reproductive tract of Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Scolytinae).

The alimentary canal and the reproductive tract of males and females of Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari are described. The alimentary canal of H. hampei showed the crop with several spine-like structures and the midgut with few gastric caeca. We evidenced for the first time that adult females need to feed on coffee in order to produce viable eggs before and during oviposition period. The presence o...

Production of Beauveria bassiana Fungal Spores on Rice to Control the Coffee Berry Borer, Hypothenemus hampei, in Colombia

Two isolates of fungal entomopathogen Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin (Hypocreales: Clavicipitaceae) were grown on cooked rice using diphasic liquid-solid fermentation in plastic bags to produce and harvest spore powder. The cultures were dried and significant differences were found for isolates and time of harvest. The spores were harvested manually and mechanically and after the cultur...

Population Dynamics and Distribution of the Coffee Berry Borer, Hypothenemus Hampei (ferrari) (coleoptera: Scolytidae) on Coffea Arabica L. in Southwestern Ethiopia

Population dynamics and distribution of coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) were studied on Coffea arabica L. in southwestern region of Ethiopia. Thirty coffee trees were sampled at weekly intervals from 2000 to 2001. Findings of this study showed that coffee berry borer population had a marked seasonal variation both on dry leftover and fallen coffee berr...

Phylogenetic origins of African and Neotropical Beauveria bassiana s.l. pathogens of the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei.

A phylogenetic epidemiological study of Beauveria bassiana s.l. was conducted for African and Neotropical pathogens of the coffee berry borer (CBB), Hypothenemus hampei, based on inferences from two nuclear intergenic regions, EFutr and Bloc. CBB pathogens were distributed among four terminal clades, however, the majority of African and Neotropical isolates cluster in a well-supported monophyle...
